The Overflowing Library has taken over the British Book Challenge in 2012 from Becky at The Bookette and I'm raring to go!
So what is the British Books Challenge?
The BBC is a reading challenge where bloggers sign up to read books by British writers throughout 2012 which was first hosted in 2011 by http://www.thebookette.co.uk/ .
"The books can be in print or out. Old or new titles. They can be from any genre and for any age."
Kirsty is particularly keen on YA fiction, which consitutes at least 50% of my usual reading matter, so I'm keen to see what new British authors' books I can read - and review - this year.
In signing up for the Challenge, I'll be aiming to read at least 12 books by British Authors in 2012. As I currently read between 1 and 4 books per week, I don't envisage this part being a problem. It'll be writing the reviews in between working, reading, and writing the second novel in the Witherstone trilogy The Hunt Begins where the challenge will be...!
My 12 Books for the 2012 British Books Challenge will include:
1. King Crow by Michael Stewart;
2. iBoy by Kevin Brooks;
3. When I Was Joe by Keren David;
4. The Oracle by Catherine Fisher;
5. The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield;
6. The Squirrel Who Dreamt of Madness by Craig Stone...
...a few to be getting on with! Right, book 1: King Crow by Michael Stewart...
